Aviad Sasi is a seasoned surf and yoga practitioner whose work centers on the intersection of movement and wellness. He has taught privately in Montauk, California and New York City since 2012, and has led retreats both locally and internationally. His approach is grounded in his lifelong pursuit of chasing the best breaks around the globe, and an education deeply rooted in yoga and well-being.

Certified as a Bikram yoga instructor with over 1,000 hours of training, Aviad expanded his foundation in his twenties while studying with acclaimed Shapeshifter founder Mary Jarvis on Captiva Island, Florida. During this formative period, he discovered the Hippocrates Health Institute, which inspired a deeper exploration of the connection between food, movement, and holistic well-being.

Drawing on his expertise in Ashtanga and Bikram yoga, Aviad developed his own private practice. His classes blend static yoga postures, Tibetan rites and classic ballet barre movements, and is influenced in part by his mother, an accomplished dancer.

Aviad seamlessly integrates this movement training into his surf instruction. His teaching focuses not only on skill development, but also on the alignment of mind, body, and spirit in the water. Through his background in yoga, he helps clients build strength, mobility, and agility, while encouraging a deeper awareness of breath, balance, and presence. Always in search of the best waves around the world, Aviad has taught clients of all levels, most recently in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama.

Aviad is a beloved and active member of the Montauk surf community and a volunteer with Believe in Tomorrow and A Walk on Water. He lives between Montauk and New York City and is passionate about introducing clients to new surf breaks, and new ways of moving, across the globe.
